Digital Lifestyle Malaysia 2013 : Digital economy depends on level of ICT use - Najib

The future of digital economy in Malaysia, is very much dependent on how the country develops, nurtures and harnesses the benefits, of information and communication technology, ICT.
 
Launching the Digital Lifestyle Malaysia 2013, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said, he firmly believed that digital technology, and the embracing of a digital lifestyle, was the differentiator that would serve to take Malaysia to a new level of success, prosperity and global recognition.
 
He also said the development of Malaysia's digital technology, would be able to create some 160 thousand, job opportunities, and attract investments, to the tune of 31.1 billion ringgit.
 
It is also expected to contribute 17 percent, to the country's Gross National Income, GNI by 2020, from 10.5 per cent in 2010. 
 
At the event, the Prime Minister also presented Broadband Empowered Entrepreneur, BEE Awards 2013 to eight outstanding online entrepreneurs, who have benefited from the National Broadband Initiative.
